BigSpeed Zip OCX

Reviewed by Milen Georgiev

This multi-threaded, fully self-contained ActiveX control lets your applications handle zip files with ease. Besides the wide range of standard features, the library also offers several unique capabilities. It provides remote access over the Internet to zip archives. Zip files located on web servers can be opened, browsed, and extracted remotely without downloading in advance. The component can search for files and text inside all local zip archives. The search parameters can be customized with a variety of filters, such as file name, date, and size. The ZIP engine is written in fast, highly-optimized assembler code. Examples are included that illustrate how to use the component with Delphi and Visual Basic.
