Smart Converter

Reviewed by Sergey Bolshakov

This multipurpose program not only converts graphics files, but it has more than 100 image effects, a rich toolset, and a tremendously time-saving batch processor. Batch mode lets you do several operations at one pass, such as resizing, converting format, renaming, and adding captions. What's more, you can save the sequence of operations to apply them to future batches. Smart Converter has a good set of editing capabilities (the Magic Wand tool automatically selects objects), which, combined with handy controls, lets you easily create simple collages. The filter browser with previewing allows you to quickly try several effects. The program can take screenshots of separate windows and display areas. Webmasters particularly will appreciate the color-picker and the Save for Web option that balances quality and size. Supported formats: bmp, jpg, gif, png, tif, jpeg, rle, dib, pcd, icb, ico, wmf, tiff, tga, pcx, scr, emf, jif, vda, jfif, rgb, afi, vst, win, cel, jpe, rgba, pic, pcc, cut, ppm, pgm, pbm, sgi, rla, rpf, psd, pdd, psp, cur, targa, bw, tar, jfi, eps (preview), int, inta, fax, jng, mng, 411, wbmp, wbm, ani, pix, thm, g3f, g3n, jp2, j2k, jpc, jpx, j2c, j, rl4, rl8, sys, tim, g3, tpi, tpic, pnm, pxm, iri, iris, rppm, rpgm, rpbm, rpxm, rpnm, rpp, rpg, rpb, rpx, rpn, bpx, wap.
