Madison PC Users Group

For everyone in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin

The Madison PC Users Group has been helping computer users since 1982 to get the most value out of using their computer for work, home, and play. Monthly general meetings provide presentations from local vendors, national vendors, or group members on topics of general interest. They also give opportunities to ask questions, get answers, and network with others. The monthly newsletter, Bits & PCs, keeps members informed about group activities, provides software reviews written by members, and gives helpful tips on computer-related products. Special Interest Groups (SIGs) meet at various times and locations each month. Current SIGs include New Users, Digital Photography, Investing, Visual Fox Pro, PDA, and Community. The SIGs allow members to focus on a more specialized area or topic of interest. Members of the Community SIG perform community projects such as setting up computer labs in neighborhood centers, running Earn Your Own Computer (EYOC) programs for kids, and networking office computers for nonprofit organizations. The Community SIG works with the Madison PC Users Group Foundation and CommunityIT, which is a collaboration of local user groups, individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions. The community projects provide opportunities for people to get hands-on experience beyond books and the classroom, to share their expertise, to teach others, to learn, and to have lots of fun.
