Diablo Valley PC User's Group (DVPC) is the San Francisco East Bay Area's largest computer user group.
__DVPC members represent a wide variety of users: Ages range from our 16 years young club treasurer, to our many valued retirees. We range in experience from PC novices to consultant leaders, from simple users to power users.
__Our members use equipment that runs the full gambit from old XT-class machines, to the hottest Pentium class machines costing more than a car. So whatever your needs, interest, skills, age, or PC experience, the DVPC is right for you!
__Membership in the Diablo Valley PC Users Group is Contra Costa County's best bargain for computer users today. For just $30.00 annually (about the price of a half hour with a technician) you can become a full member. As such, you get the first raffle ticket free each time you attend a meeting.
__Bring along your questions to a meeting and challenge our collective experience, someone has already been there and done t hat, and are eager to share the solution. Since we represent lots of PC users we get a steady supply of top notch software & hardware vendors clamoring to show us their latest & greatest. Plus to show their appreciation they generously donate lots of valuable product for door prizes. If you attend meetings on a regular basis you're likely to walk out with door prizes of top rated products worth hundreds of dollars. We also get nice discounts at major area retail outlets, not to mention the fantastic deals at our auctions, and at our swap table.
__Members also receive the full version of our 16 page monthly newsletter, which is packed with Tips & Tricks, columns by DVPC members, various articles of general interest, and usually comes spiced with some side splitting computer humor. Our meetings are quite casual, our members are a fun loving lot, that are happy to share ideas.
__The DVPC has a number of Special Interest Groups that meet regularly to share specialized areas of interest. We hold our main monthly meeting on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00pm immediately following the New Users SIG. Special Interest Groups provide information about and training on a wide variety of popular hardware and software products.
__If you are a newcomer to personal computers who wants to learn more, use a software package and want to improve your skills, want to learn more about education or entertainment programs... DVPC has a SIG that will fit your interests. Our SIGs include Access/Visual Basic, Advanced Users, Clarion, Education & Entertainment, Genealogy, Internet, Linux, Microsoft Project, New Users, Photo, Real Estate, and Windows.
__DVPC annual dues are $30/year with the monthly newsletter, Diablo Blue, mailed to your home or office, $25/year with access to the monthly newsletter from our web site, or $20/year for full time students under 25 (student ID or other documentation required).
